Lecture Series

The Gift of Good Land: Lecture Series

Wednesdays from 4:30-5:45 p.m.

October 18-November 8

What does it mean to be a creature?  What is the Promised Land?  How do these ancient concepts speak to us today, especially in the face of our ecological crisis?  These are a few of the topics the Rev. Ragan Sutterfield (M.Div. Virginia Theological Seminary) will be taking up as he joins the Old Testament course at Arkansas Baptist College for a guest lecture series. The course is open to anyone interested, but an RSVP is requested.  Come to one or come to all four.  Contact Ragan Sutterfield (rsutterfield@christchurchlr.org) or Malik Saafir (malik.saafir@arkansasbaptist.edu) if you’re interested in joining the series.

October 18: Creation (Genesis 1-2)

October 25: Promised Land (Genesis 28:10-19)

November 1: Conditions of the Promise (Passages from Deuteronomy and Leviticus)

November 8: Preparing for the Promise (Jeremiah)

The lectures will be held on the campus of Arkansas Baptist College (1621 Dr. Martin Luther King Dr.) in the Old Main Building in room 207.
