Tighten-Up Treat Bags

Volunteers helped hand out 50 Tighten-Up Treat Bags at the Hillary Clinton Children’s Library, 4800 W. 10th St., Little Rock, October 29, 2013, 4:30 to 6 p.m. Each bag included a CFL bulb, weather stripping, a faucet aerator, socket sealers, a power strip and instructions, offered by Ark. IPL , working with the City of Little Rock, the Arkansas Chapter of the U.S. Green Business Council. The bags are made possible by a grant from the Arkansas Environmental Education Association.

The event was so successful that it was repeated in December, 2013 at Mosaic Church in Little Rock.

Arkansas IPL has repeated this offer multiple times in 2014, 2015, and 2016. Each treat bag distribution followed a 45-minute session to increase awareness of environmental issues.

The first was February 15, 2014 in the 12th Street Corridor of Little Rock. LOVE BAGS! Love Your Neighbor and and also June 24, 2014 at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Pine Bluff. We then offered Tighten-Up Treat Bags at several Neighborhood Watch meetings in Pine Bluff in the summer of 2014.

In November and December, 2014, Warm Holiday Treat Bags were distributed at St. Francis House and Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Little Rock.

We have plans for additional energy efficiency awareness sessions and treat bag donations 2015.  Donate Online Now !
