A Day in the Garden: October 17
Join us Saturday, October 17, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
12th & Peyton Streets, Little Rock
Bring your work gloves, your small shovel, your big shovel, your rake, your hoe, your sunscreen, your sun hat, your re-fillable water bottle – whatever you have!
We will be working with the Young Adult Opportunity Center, Neighbors That Love, and others to tend to the beautiful garden that will provide local healthy food for our neighbors in the 12th St. area.
Lunch will be provided by the Young Adult Opportunity Center. However, you are welcome to bring your own sack lunch if you prefer.
Thanks to grants from the Arkansas Community Foundation and Second Presbyterian Church, we have fortified the garden with a truckload of soil, tools, seedlings, chicken wire, water hoses, extension cords, and more. Volunteers from a Neighborhood Studies class at UALR helped start the rows. Neighbors have been watering. Chickens have been laying eggs.
What is Next? BEES !!! Bees and Bee Hives.
Now we need your hands to keep up the good work.
